Fanny and Alexander's father dies and the movie turns sad and menacing. Odd, that the interiors are now light and airy.

Alexander confesses his lies.

The ghost of the dead father appears in a ray of sunlight.

More movie interiors. This time "Fanny and Alexander". I am of Swedish linage, so I have an affection for this decor. Doesn't hurt that it is very rich.

The drawing rooms decked out for Yule. The predominant colors are Victorian Red and Green. All the ladies are wearing some variation of red - from garnet to peach. And everything is dark. "Merry Christmas"
The Reading of the Christmas story.

Alexander sneaking into his grandmother's bedroom.

A traditional Swedish Christmas display.

I had planned on doing a lot of painting this week-end, but a summer cold has laid me low. And instead of painting I did a little looking at Style.com for some pretty things. Burberry Prorsum has some beautiful colors for their resort collection 2011.

Still interested in wallpaper? How about Cole and Son? They have a reasonable substitute for Sherlock's palm frond walls. This image of Kate Spade's shop I found at stylebeat.blogspot.com
